Culvert Rehabilitation through CIPP Lining
Absolute Accessibility CWW has mastered a technique for rehabilitating culverts through the application of CIPP (Cured-in-Place Pipe). By applying CIPP methodologies, culverts can be rehabilitated in spite of traditionally challenging or limited accessibility. In instances where the inlet or outlet to the culvert would under normal conditions be inaccessible due to a series of mitigating factors including the presence of thick brush, tress, a steep drop, or swampy grounds, CWW can seamlessly install a CIPP liner entirely from one extremity alone. As a result the costs typically associated with the development of temporary roads to gain accessibility to either end of the culvert are entirely eliminated. Moreover, CIPP is an environmentally responsible solution, as surrounding lands and natural habitats remain uncompromised.
A Significant Reduction in Time, Labour, and Costs CWW pulls the liner in place through the use of a winch, and pulleys can be used to pull the liner from the road surface should access be limited. For large diameters, a crane is used to move the liner from our refrigerated truck to the culvert inlet or outlet, whichever is most accessible. A calibration bag is then inverted inside the liner, and the liner is steam-cured. By strategically deploying a steam cure method, the process eliminates the need for the presence of water trucks and treatment of water used for curing. In addition, CWW can complete a CIPP installation in one day, thereby avoiding the costs and disruptions associated with road closures and detours that are inherent to conventional dig-and replace methods. The result: absolute culvert rehabilitation in less time, reduced costs, and a distinct competitive advantage.
